After watching the Yankees and Red Sox swing deadline deals yesterday, Jays fans have been anxiously watching the front office today. The Blue Jays badly needed pitching, and they got it:
The Toronto Blue Jays are in agreement on a deal to acquire right-hander Jose Berrios from the Minnesota Twins, sources tell ESPN. Twins will be getting back multiple prospects. Big get for the Blue Jays, who needed pitching badly and get the best arm. @Ken_Rosenthal was on it.

The return is pretty steep:
#MNTwins got Martin and Woods-Richardson for José Berríos.

Berrios is a very good 27 year-old pitcher from Puerto Rico. He has a 3.48 ERA this year, and is under control through 2022, so he’ll be a pivotal part of the Jays rotation next year.
SO far this season, he’s pitched 121.2 innings over 20 starts, with a 3.57 FIP and has been worth 2.3 WAR.
OFFICIAL: We’ve acquired RHP José Berríos from the Twins in exchange for SS/OF Austin Martin and RHP Simeon Woods Richardson.
