I am very happy I got to see a win last night. I was afraid my losing streak from 2018 was going to continue.
The first game, hardly anyone was there (around 3,600 apparently, it seemed like far fewer). We bought tickets for $10 and just wandered around spending an inning in different sections. There was not a soul on the entire upper deck except for the ushers and camera operators. The ushers in other sections said we can sit whenever we choose. Ended up close to home sitting beside what I’m assuming was Reese McGuire’s family since I’m not sure where else you’d find three people with his jersey. It was very hot, and Springer got booed and jeered a cheater during every at bat.
The night game had a bigger crowd, just under 15,000. It was really neat to have Ohtani at bat with the game on the line at the end even if I didn’t appreciate what it did to my heart rate. We made it on TV close to the start. Thanks to Minor Leaguer for sending me the screenshot to let me know.
I’ll be at tomorrow’s game with my dad. Can’t wait.
Let’s take another tonight first.

We are glad you are here and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it’s “don’t be terrible,” but these days it’s also, “please debate about baseball and not the coronavirus or vaccines.” If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don’t do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here.
