Stripling to IL, Thornton Up

The Jays have put Ross Stripling on the IL with an oblique issue. Trent Thornton, who was already with the team, gets his spot on the roster.

We were wondering how the team would go from six starters to five. Never wonder about those things, they tend to work themselves out.

Also, Connor Overton has been added to the Jays roster, and Patrick Murphy has been DFAed. I liked Murphy, he had a couple of bad outings, but I still think there is potential there.

Overton, a RHP, has a 2.03 ERA in 21 games, 7 starts for the Bisons. In 57.2 innings, he’s allowed 52 hits, 10 walks, with 50 strikeouts.

Carl Edwards Jr. is starting a rehab assignment in Dunedin. I’m not sure what the long-range plan is. I can’t see DFAing anyone on the roster to have him for a month at the end of the season. But then there is no reason to make a decision now.

Bo Bichette is out of the lineup again today. And Vlad has been moved down a spot. personally the idea that he isn’t hitting as great as before is due to being moved to the second spot in the order is silly. But then moving him down one spot doesn’t hurt anything either.

Kirk plays, Lourdes is at first base.
