GameThread Game #117: Jays @ Mariners

MLB: Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Jays, if you could maybe win one for me today, I would appreciate it.

There were some bits of good news yesterday:

  • The Jays are saying George Springer has a sprained ankle and will be day-to-day. There are levels of ankle sprains. Hopefully, his won’t turn out to be too bad. I remember having a sprained ankle, and my leg was black and blue up to the knee. I limped for a month.
  • Nate Pearson pitched a good inning for the Bisons yesterday. From what I saw, they said he hit 98 mph, and everything was in or near the strike zone. Thomas Hatch threw 6 good innings too. We should have a poll on how many rehab appearances Nate will have before they call him up.
  • Anthony Castro and Carl Edwards Jr. both threw an inning in the Bisons’ game, Castro’s was clean, Edwards allowed a two-run homer.
  • Cavan Biggio went 0 for 4 in his first rehab game.

Today’s lineup:
