Tigers 0 Blue Jays 3

All the runs came on home runs (can you call 3 runs ‘all’). In the second, Randal Grichuk had a 2-run shot (after Santiago Espinal singled), and Marcus Semien had a solo homer in the eighth. That was his 30th of the season.

We had a total of 7 hits and 1 walk against Wily Peralta (7 innings) and reliever Erasmo Ramirez (2 innings). Semien had 3 hits. Vlad, Espinal, Grichuk, and McGuire each had one.

And we had a great start from Hyun Jin Ryu, who went 7 innings, allowed just 5 hits (4 singles and a double), 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. He was dominant, much like Ray yesterday.

Tim Mayza pitched a quick eighth.

Jordan Romano gave up a leadoff single in the ninth. But he followed that with three strikeouts.

Our infield defense was terrific today. Ryu had 11 ground-outs, with no fly-outs.

After yesterday’s game, it is great to have a game where the recap is nice and short.

Jays of the Day: Ryu (.424 WPA) and Grichuk (.170).

Suckage: Teoscar had the number at -.113 for an 0 for 3 afternoons.

Tomorrow we have Drew Hutchison (yeah, really) vs. Steven Matz.

It was a slow GameThread today, understandable after a crappy game yesterday, I led us to victory.
