Things always look better after a Jays' win.
Today our boys in Blue meet up with our old friend, and birthday boy Drew Hutchison. It is Drew’s second start for the Tigers, and his second appearance in the MLB since making five starts for the Rangers back in 2018. His first start did not go well. He gave up 6 runs, 2 earned in 1.2 innings.
I’d wish him better luck today, but I want a win.
I wonder if there is anyone in the Jays organization that remembers him, he last played for the Jays in 2016. There has been a lot of turnover in the past 5 years. I have a soft spot for Drew, trading him started us down the road that got us Teoscar Hernandez.
Steven Matz goes for the Jays. He’s coming off a good start against the Mariners. I’m hoping he can turn that into a trend.
In the “Jays News Department” Alek Manoah is back from the Bereavement List, with Otto Lopez going back to Buffalo, after just one at-bat. I wish the team gave him a bit more of a look.
I’m happy to see Kevin Smith get a start at third. Alejandro Kirk plays too. I hope it is a run-up the score day.
