Jays roster move: Palacios up, Snead down

There was a surprise roster move this afternoon:

Josh Palacios has been recalled from Buffalo, and Kirby Snead has been sent down.

I’m guessing it is to have someone who can fill in in center field if Randal Grichuk needs to be spelled.

Also, Elvis Luciano has been released. You will remember he was a Rule 5 pickup in 2018. He has a 3.41 ERA in 11 starts in New Hampshire this season, with 33 strikeouts and 16 walks in 34.1 innings.

Palacios is hitting .283/.406/.340 in the minors this year. He played 10 games for the Jays earlier in the season.

Personally, I’d have kept Otto Lopez up.

Today’s lineup. No Kirk, no Smith.
