please win

MLB: New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Jays are looking to salvage their season playoff chances in what feels like a must win game. They’ll be up against Gerrit Cole, so they have their work cut out for them. Let’s hope the bats find a resurgence and we can be off to the races.

I’ll say again, should the game go sour early on, let’s please try to keep from piling on an abundance of negativity. We have 5 games left, and the Jays are still in it. Let’s enjoy the remaining games and commiserate together so this can be a fun place to be.

Here is tonight’s lineup. McGuire will catch this one (Montoyo said he likes the way he worked with Berríos recently), Gurriel will DH again, and Dickerson gets the start in left.

Today's Lineups

Gleyber Torres - 2B Lourdes Gurriel - DH
Gio Urshela - SS Corey Dickerson - LF

We are glad you are here and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it’s “don’t be terrible,” but these days, it’s also, “please debate about baseball and not the coronavirus or vaccines.” If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don’t do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here. You can Adopt-a-Jay here, and here’s a helpful tutorial on how to post images in the comments. And please no ‘game over’ comments until the game is actually over.
