Five Jays Finalists for Gold Gloves

The Gold Glove finalists have been announced and there are five Blue Jays on the list:

  • Whit Merrifield is listed as a finalist among utility players.
  • Jackie Bradley at a right fielder.
  • Matt Chapman at third.
  • Vladimir Guerrero at first.
  • José Berríos at pitcher.

I’m surprised about Vlad’s spot on the list. I don’t see him as a Gold Glove first baseman but then they don’t ask me. I guess his glove failing shouldn’t change his chances.
