It's the details stupid

Not sure they have actually improved roster at all. About a wash with last year (Ray 21 vs Gausman and full year of Berrios and Matz/Kikuchi likely a plus, Chapman maybe slight minus vs Semien overall etc) but the future core including Springer hopefully healthier and a year better playing together. That could be the key. Jays missed playoffs in 2021 simply due to less injury depth than Rays and Yankees, not starting lineup talent. Need more serviceable depth to lineup a la Panik, Dickerson "types" and smart relief signings and one more viable starter. The farm is weaker in short run. This could be key for Atkins now and at deadline not the big moves. Not the first time Jays strategy has been flawed by far. A little work still to do and hope they do it for once.
