Game Two against the Angels. Last night was a nice win. Maybe we can have the same tonight.

Tonight’s lineup is similar to yesterday’s but with Horwitz DHing. Wagner gets to try to improve his .750/.750/1.000 batting line.

Today's Lineups

Daulton Varsho - CF Zach Neto - SS
Vladimir Guerrero - 1B Logan O'Hoppe - C

Reese McGuire was surprised that the Red Sox traded for Danny Jansen and DFAed him:

“It’s just interesting. I’ll definitely say it: It caught the whole clubhouse off guard with that trade,” McGuire said Tuesday here at Triple-A Worcester’s Polar Park. “I felt like we were a really, really close-knit group. And we finished that first half really, really strong. And everyone was on the same page. Everyone was locked in and ready for that second half to kick off. Unfortunately for me, that move was made, which pretty much put the writing on the wall that the position was going to be filled.”

Since Reese was hitting .209/.280/.295, I don’t think it should have been a big surprise.

He was also surprised he cleared waivers. Those things must be hard on players.
